statement
The thing that drives my photography the most is my belief that people organize their physical worlds in order to make them beautiful. When they arrange flowers or a store window, or create a sign or design a building, it's all meant to bring beauty to their lives – and to others'. While I do enjoy taking pictures of people, I prefer to find the spaces in which people have created something that resonates with me – the “traces” of people, which I think speak as profoundly as the facial features that attract a portrait photographer. And when I do make a “portrait,” I find that I must place the person within a context that amplifies and illuminates.
