statement :: Pants Avengers' paintings and drawings don't deal with representation or abstraction. They are schematics. Like maps are schematics. As kids, we made maps of our explorations in the neighborhood. These maps recorded our passage, and suggested new territory to visit. Maps can be pretty, but, like Pants Avengers paintings, they are made to be functional. |
