joseph stalnaker bio Born 1979 in Atlanta Georgia, Joseph Stalnaker spent most of his time drawing and sculpting. He was encouraged by his parents regularly to pursue his artistic ambitions. This eventually led to his relocation to New York City to pursue a career in fashion design. After attending Fashion Institute of Technology Joseph began working for fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez. This experience has allowed him to discover a world of unknown creativity. It has helped him understand that fine art and design can touch anyone regardless of social classification. statement Through my artwork I hope to give something to the viewer that is visual and emotional at the same time. I believe people relate to what they can understand and abstraction comes from their lifetime of experience. Mostly John Singer Sargent, James McNeill Whistler, and Anton Corbijn influence my work. Hopefully my work will influence others as these artists have influenced me. | |||
