bio

Corinne Dolle was born in a medieval village in the south of France near the Demoiselles of Picasso, Avignon. She studied at the Ateliers d'Art in Avignon, the New York Studio School and the Art Student's League in New York. She received a merit scholarship judged by the curator of Painting and Sculpture at MOMA in 2000. A year later, she exhibited her work at Lincoln Center. She lives and works in New York City.

She captures nature's beautiful shapes and fierce vitality in a free but controlled manner. Her sensitive line keeps the drawing away from a pure representational aspect. Like Japanese traditional drawings, Corinne captures the essence of a live beauty.

She travels a lot to the countryside in Europe as well as in America where she finds her ultimate inspirations. She likes to work on natural surfaces such as Tibetan paper or craft paper and uses inks and watercolors for her drawings. Those mediums are for her like an echo of nature.
