work statement
The “Hunting” project is about a feeling of what composes our DNA. I explore landscape as a predator and hunters as an initiation into different realms of reality. This project is a voyage that unfolds magical environments and instinctive behaviors. I have worked on “Hunting” for five years; it makes for a powerful body of work.

Benoit Aquin grew up in Montreal and studied photography in Boston. He has always practiced documentary and editorial photography for a living. He has exhibited in major events for photography in Canada, and his work is part of the collection in the Canadian Contemporary Photography Museum. Benoit is 43 years old and resides in Montreal, Quebec.

Hi there,
I work for SIRS, a company that manages a subscriber-only academic database. We’re using an article that includes work by Benoit Aquin and we’d like to include it. However, to do this, we need to obtain his permission, and we’re unable to locate him. Do you have any contact info for Mr. Aquin, like an e-mail address or a telephone number of an agent or something? Do you know who else we might ask for this information?

Winter Edition showcase got some great mentions even though it was only up for a short period of time. Impressive! Gothamist, Flavorpill, Manhattan Users’ Guide and The L Magazine all wrote about the show – but our favorite by far was being shortlisted in the Village Voice: “For the past three years, jen bekman has championed the up-and-coming young artist, particularly in the photography field. It’s appropriate then that the latest installment of her ‘Hey, Hot Shot’ series opens on Wednesday, the gallery’s third anniversary.
