Artist's Statement
In my current work, I explore social relationships between people, who they interact with, and their immediate surroundings. The collective suspense of the individual, be it be a group sharing the same experience, or the relationship between people and the place they inhabit, I observe as an outsider and reflect on my own experiences. The descriptive detail in the specific situations is important to me; for this reason I use a large format (4x5) field camera with available light while occasionally, I hand-hold my camera to capture the situation quickly without compromising the detail level in the image.

It is not one moment, it happens almost each time I get my film back from processing and see the 4x5 sheets on a lightbox!

I Use a 4x5 Toyo Field and a 4x5 Cambo monorail camera
